Sunday Challenge by Jake – Door
This painting hangs in my dining room. I enjoy looking at it every day. I posted this before but merits re-posting because of the message. Enjoy … http://insidethemindofisadora.wordpress.com/2011/10/21/weekly-photo-challenge-opportunity/
Painting title – “Opportunity” by Artist Juan “One” Sepulveda
In our journey through “LIFE”, we often encounter opportunities and disappointments. In this painting there is a person, who appears defeated after a door closes in front of him. The disappointment of his recent loss is such that it has drained all his energy and is preventing him from noticing the other opportunities available. This painting is intended to help the viewer realize that we are bound to find closed doors in our lives but our perseverance will lead us to find other opportunities.
Juan “One” Sepulveda values his relationship with God. In his work, he portrays the struggles we encounter with inspirational meanings. This is a painting I purchased from “One” in December, 2010 because of it’s meaning. http://www.onesgallery.com/

Enjoyed both your door postings. I’ll take door #2
Seriously, we sometimes get so caught up in our expectations we forget to enjoy the actual journey and all the scenery, adventure, learning and discovery it holds.
We tend to be blind to what is ahead because we have disappointments about our expectations not being met. They were probably not the best for us anyway and greater things always arrive. It is my favorite painting. I love asking guests what they think the meaning is and then have a night of good conversations over a glass of vino.
Glad you enjoyed these …
Namaste,
Izzy
Yes I have to agree with the above Isadora. That’s definitely me sitting there oblivious to the open doors. I had the longest face tonight because I spent quite a lot of time on a new post, only to find when I went to the preview that I’d lost most of it! Then I read your lovely comments on my door, and d’you know what- I’ll just have to do it again, and better.
This is my favorite painting because of its’ meaning. We have had many
intriguing conversations with guests over a glass of vino and discussed
what their opinion is on the meaning behind the artwork. It is so simple
and yet so difficult. We are focused on the disappointment of what our
expectations were that we cannot accept nor see that something better
or greater is being given to us. This is art that truly speaks to people. Glad you enjoyed it and dropped by to visit.
Namaste,
Isadora
The more I look at this painting the more I see it must be wonderful to live with.

Interesting – such a sad, hopeless situation, on the one hand, emphasised by the blue colouring, and yet the possibility for opportunities on the other hand. A metaphor indeed! I guess we’ve all been slumped at the closed door, at one time or other and must be grateful for that glimmer of light that beckons us to consider alternatives …
Trials and tribulations in our lives can sometimes defeat our desires to go
on. Our inner strength come in when we rise up and go towards another light
that will fill that empty disappointment.
Appreciate your stopping by and leaving your impassioned comment.
Namaste ….
I enjoyed looking at your painting:)

Awesome message of truth and light, Izzy … thank you for the revisit … always a good reminder!
Many blessings to you as we end this week ~~
Thank you, Becca … this is a message we can always repeat.
Namaste ….
A stunning work to own Izzy, You know, I sometime use guided visualisations with clients and a hallway with doors each side is the beginning!
This is a great painting for thought processing. I purchased it because I loved its’ meaning but I knew that it would touch people in different ways when they viewed it. We have had many
intriguing conversations with guests over a glass of vino and discussed
what their opinion is on the meaning behind the artwork. Everyone sees something completely different. Incidentally, the artist is color blind.
If you have time vsit his web-site. You can purchase a small 8 X 10 very inexpensively. We wanted an original for investment value but if you want to use it with clients it could work well for you. Of course, you can always copy and paste and print – but – you didn’t hear it form me. lolol ~~~~ : – )
Namaste …

I really love this doors ARTWORK thanks for sharing Isadora
It is an unusual painting that I enjoy daily.
Very interesting painting, Isadora, and it definitely has the same meaning as my quote by Alexander Graham Bell. How many times have we all been obsessed by the door that didn’t open, ignoring all the open door possibilities? Thanks for sharing this!
Oh, yes, indeed – too many time we ignore the open doors.
Glad you enjoyed it and stopped by.
Please visit again, Isadora
This is a remarkable painting and an important reminder.
I’m so pleased you think so and left a comment
stating that. The message is a great one. Thank you.
Insightful post, Isadora, both in thought and the painting, which I really like. Kudos to you, dear!
It is a painting that evokes despondance but upon further viewing
sends a message of hope if we open our eyes, mind and heart to it.
Glad you liked it ….
Beautiful painting. A perfect metaphor and a reminder to all of us o not give up!
I feel that message of never give up when I look at the painting everyday. You cannot feel disheartened if you see that there can be hope if you just enter the next door.
Thank you, Madhu.

Thank you … gracias
A door that makes you think and reflect. A door we can so relate too. Doors that we face each day. In a way, we all are like the person in the painting. Beautiful post!
