Weekly Photo Challenge: Purple

Purple is the color of people seeking spiritual fulfillment. It is the color of good judgment It is said if you surround yourself with purple you will have peace of mind. Purple is a good color to use in meditation.

Purple has been used to symbolize magic and mystery, as well as royalty. It is the combination of red and blue, the warmest and coolest colors.  Purple is believed to be the ideal color. Most children love the color purple. Purple is the color most favored by artists. Thursday’s color is purple.

Violet is the color of purpose. It is associated with the Crown chakra. Violet is the energy shade of purple. It is also a combination of blues and reds. Red is a focusing, dynamic and active energy color while blue is cooling, calming and an expansive color. Violet brings a new dynamic to the expansion of blue and the activity of red. Red brings practicality to the undirected expansiveness of the blue, and allows more creative energy to emerge. For this reason, violet is associated with imagination and inspiration. Violet is an important energy for those who use blue and indigo skills in the psychic field. The red in violet offers a grounding effect.

I love to handwrite in purple ink and have many purple clothes, including my Fair Trade sun hat! I love the way you explain the reasons why so many of us are drawn to it, from childhood, mixing in the spiritual meanings and the upper chakras, (which I’ve worked on when practicing Indian Head Massage.) Your photographs are stunning Isadora! :)

    • Thanks so much for you very complimentary words. I have loved purple
forever. I used the purple crayon the most when coloring. I haven’t found a purple
pen. I must look for one. MMMmmmm …. Indian Head Massage sounds interesting.
You must post something about that. It is new to me … and … about Fair Trade Markets.
Glad the orchids made you happy.

Gorgeous flowers Isadora, since I remember you mentioning you had a thing for orchids, did you grow these?

    • Yes, Jeff … these are from my orchid collection. The first one has only bloomed once. It is a difficult one to get to bloom. The 2nd and 3rd have bloomed several times for me. I had no clue when I started to grow them that I was selecting purple flowers all the time. SSssooo … I have lots of purple pix’s of orchids. hahaha
      Glad you enjoyed them … thanks ~~~~ : – )
