Nurture Yourself – Clarity in Nature

meditation[1] - Copy
In keeping with my word a month to Nurture Yourself – the word for May is Clarity. To have clarity (claridad, limpidez – Spanish) is to be free from cloudiness, obscurity and blurred thoughts. It’s a state of mind quality that is clear; transparent and lucid.

Your brain functions better when you do things outdoors. Is there anything more envigorating than a walk in the park or a visually pleasing outdoor area?

taichi-morning[1]
Gardening, walking, exercising all contribute to positive thinking. Exercise in the open air with the warmth of the sun, the sound of birds singing in the trees and a light breeze blowing in your hair and face can raise anyones level of happiness. Looking at natural scenery and noticing nature’s beauty all have an effect on our emotional stability. For years, Japanese have been practicing Tai Chi outdoors. Tai means supreme or great – Chi means life’s eneregy. There has been a resurgence of Tai Chi with baby boomers who are interested in its benefits to physical and mental health.

Negative ions which have been found in particles near waterfalls, river rapids and in beaking waves at the beach can act as natural anti-depressants, according to a study conducted at Columbia University.fwk-carpenter-fig04_010[1]
Today, take a little time to nurture yourself with a little time outdorrs and find clairty with all the beauty before you. Unpleasant thoughts will fade away and you’ll feel energized enough to face anything before you.

Nurture Yourself – Clarity of Heartbreak and Pain

In keeping with my word a month to Nurture Yourself – the word for May is Clarity. To have clarity (claridad, limpidez – Spanish) is to be free from cloudiness, obscurity and blurred thoughts. It’s a state of mind quality that is clear; transparent and lucid.

imagesCACRN5BOClarity helps us to be present in our lives. Simply being present is a gift we can use to nurture ourselves. When we can go deep into our thoughts and feel heartbreak –the heartbreak which we have hidden – then we can open up to love. A love you will give to yourself completely. Looking for it outside of yourself is futile until you have nurtured yourself with it.

Petals--original-web-signed

Heartbreak and Pain

Like scattered petals fallen to the ground,

My heart needs the pieces put back together.

Your words erased my existence,

Now, I can be free.

For you are gone,

Words won’t be spoken.

When I was young,

You held me captive.

You cannot hurt me,

Nor do I scare.

I will not ever have your love,

But I have one who cares.

Nurture Yourself – Feel Clarity
In keeping with my word a month to Nurture Yourself – the word for May is Clarity. To have clarity (claridad, limpidez – Spanish) is to be free from cloudiness, obscurity and blurred thoughts. It’s a state of mind quality that is clear; transparent and lucid.

imagesCACRN5BOAt times, it’s difficult and emotionally painful when we realize that we’re hiding or covering up feelings we need to face. The fact is that even though we know these things are in need of clarity in order to be happy avoiding them is less traumatic to us. Hurtful as it is, avoiding issues, which require us to search our hearts for closure is of major importance. We’re hardest on ourselves when it comes to traumatic incidents.
We believe that we hadn’t done something to prevent whatever has occurred. We hide, shut down, deny, criticize and close our emotions to feelings. If we can find the clarity to see these events, you’re taking the first step to nurturing yourself to a healthy emotional life.
We need to be grateful for our lives. Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion into clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.
And so … tomorrow is a blank page, just waiting to be filled with your dreams …. All you have to do is be yourself and live the story of your own unique life.
Be PROUD … Be CONFIDENT … and most of all …. Be HAPPY!!!!

If you’re reading this, you have survived your entire life up until this point. You’ve survived traumas, heartbreak, devastation, and the different phases of your life. And here you are …..

Are you taking time to lift your veil of darkness in order to have more clarity?

When there are a great many stressful issues, past or present, that burdens our minds, clarity becomes veiled blurs. Simple decisions or choices become overwhelming. Our navigation through these decisions brings us down; especially, if they don’t turn out the way we expected. We doubt ourselves. Sometimes, we can’t decide what we want to do with our lives, our careers or our relationships.

Clarity of mind is having clarity of passion, too; this is why a great and clear mind loves ardently and sees distinctly what it loves. Sitting quietly and having moments of deep meditation helps us to see through those murky foggy places that need clearing. In opening your mind’s eye to clarity, we begin to become a more radiant luminous you.

george-jones_sm[1]George Jones – A Celebration of Life

On April 26, 2013, one of the great legends of country western music was asked to leave his family and fans in order to sing for his creator.

It has been well-documented that he was a man who lived a hard life. For years, he was in newspapers because of his wild living. Drinking, drugs and woman were what he felt he needed to fill an emptiness he had. A great many of his song lyrics speak to those demons of heartache and pain. Eventually, he changed those wicked ways when he met his wife of 30 years, Nancy Sepulveda.

He was known as The Possum a name given to him by a well-known DJ, and No Show Jones for his lack of arriving at many concerts and show dates. I was fortunate to have seen George Jones at one of those almost no-show events. A very small local club on Long Island, New York was featuring him and another lead-in singer by the name of Merle Kilgore. They were making their way to a big concert and along the way were stopping at local places to try out some new material. Lucky us …

It turned out that he was going to go on right after Merle Kilgore did his set. Unfortunately, he had to do three sets as George hadn’t arrived yet.

It was now almost 11:00 p.m. and the show had started at 8:00 p.m. naturally, the audience was anxious to see George Jones. It was beginning to get a bit loud and sadly uncomfortable for this lead act. George Jones did show up. It was almost midnight. He sang and he sang and he sang. He sang his heart out for the crowd and actually apologized for being late. He was a great performer. He will be missed by his fans.

Drawn to a Close

Nothing lasts forever
It’s a fact we can’t deny
Hold on to the one you cherish
And never make them cry
For one day you will wonder
Where the time has gone
Regret is no solution for
For things you’ve left undone

Roses and Romance
images[10]

Roses have long been associated with romance. Roses come in many colors. The colors are symbolic because they can convey a message without words as can the number of roses given.
Romance is the glamour which turns the dust of everyday into a golden haze. Elynor Glyn

Rose Colors….
Red roses mean love and romance; White roses mean purity of love – wedding; Yellow roses mean friendship and happiness; Pink Rose mean thankfulness and gratitude; Lavender Rose mean enchanted love; Orange Rose mean – enthusiasm fascination; Green Rose means rejuvenation and luck; Black or Nigrette Rose means radical love; Blue Rose means unattainable and mysterious; Rainbow roses mean happiness.

Originally sung by Edith Piaf

LYRICS – La Vie en Rose

Hold me close and hold me fast
The magic spell you cast
This is la vie en rose

When you kiss me heaven sighs
And tho I close my eyes
I see la vie en rose

When you press me to your heart
I’m in a world apart
A world where roses bloom

And when you speak…angels sing from above
Everyday words seem…to turn into love songs

Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be
La vie en rose

quincy_jones[1]Quincy Jones – aka – Q

If you’re someone who listens to music, you’ve heard Ouincy Jones. In fact, what you’ve heard are many of the artists he discovered and made into famous celebrities. Turning 80 this year, he was born Quincy Delight Jones Jr. in Chicago, Illinois on March 14, 1933 to Sarah Frances and Quincy Delight Jones, Sr. He attended Berklee College of Music and is known to his friends as Q.

In a musical career that has spanned six decades, Quincy Jones has earned his reputation as a renaissance man of American music. Jones has distinguished himself as a bandleader, a solo artist (trumpeter), a songwriter, a producer, an arranger, a composer of film in addition to music, and a record label executive, and outside of music, he’s also written books, produced major motion pictures, and helped create television series. Here is a quick look at a few of the artists Jones has worked which suggests the remarkable diversity of his career — Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, Count Basie, Lesley Gore, Michael Jackson, Peggy Lee, Ray Charles, Paul Simon, Celine Dion and Aretha Franklin.

“We Are the World” is a song and charity single originally recorded by the supergroup USA for Africa in 1985. It was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, and produced by Quincy Jones and Michael Omartian for the album We Are the World. With sales in excess of 20 million copies, it is one of the fewer than 30 all-time singles to have sold 10 million (or more) copies worldwide.

It has been described as “an appeal to human compassion”. In light of many recent events this song seemed so very timely once again.

We Are the World

Lionel Richie
There comes a time when we hear a certain call

Lionel Richie & Stevie Wonder
When the world must come together as one

Stevie Wonder
There are people dying

Paul Simon
Oh, and it’s time to lend a hand to life

James Ingram
That someone, somewhere will soon make a change

Tina Turner
We are all a part of God’s great big family

Billy Joel
And the truth,

Tina Turner/Billy Joel
you know, love is all we need

Michael Jackson
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

Diana Ross
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives

Michael Jackson & Diana Ross
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

Dionne Warwick
Oh, Send them your heart
So they’ll know that someone cares

Dionne Warwick & Willie Nelson
And their lives will be stronger and free

Willie Nelson
As God has shown us by turning stones to bread

Al Jarreau
And so we all must lend a helping hand

Bruce Springsteen
We are the world, we are the children

Kenny Logins
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

Steve Perry
Oh, there’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives

Daryl Hall
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

Michael Jackson
When you’re down and out, there seems no hope at all

Huey Lewis

But if you just believe there’s no way we can fall

Cyndi Lauper
Well, well, well, well let us realize that a change
can only come

Kim Carnes/Cyndi Lauper/Huey Lewis
When we stand together as one

Chorus:
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

Chorus:
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives

Bob Dylan
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

Chorus:
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

Ray Charles

There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day

Nurture Yourself – Visualize Childhood

In keeping with my word a month to Nurture Yourself the word for April is Visualize. When you Visualize you create an idea, thought or mental image of someone or something.

Childhood memories can be difficult to recall for some. If there was turmoil in the household while you were growing up; you absorbed it in every fiber of your being. This is the energy you with stood and didn’t realize that it was harmful to you. You are a child, how would you know? There are many things from when I was growing up that can be oppressing for me to remember. They are placed where they need to be. If we want to know ourselves. We need to have peace in ourselves.

For this week, I chose to write a poem.

Please, enjoy …. Namaste
Isadora

Shadow

I have a little shadow
It follows me each day
A blanket filled with sadness
No comfort from its weight
A shadow all around me
I try to send away
My happiness and banter
Doesn’t help along the way
A new blanket flees me
I wish one could be found
For many days I’m weary
From this heavy load endured
I bring disheartened pain and grief
Blessings, I have many
More than I can hold
But I have a little shadow
That, just, will not go home

Namaste …. Isadora

Don’t miss this video … the music lulls you into a tranquil state that calms all your senses. A gentle ecstasy of images to transport you to whichever image calms your soul. You’ll dream of magical balloons flying in a quiet blue sky. Sweet Dreams …..Namaste

Nurutre Yourself – Visualize Blank

3[1] - Copy (3) (280x280)Expectation by Photographer Hossein Zare http://500px.com/

In keeping with my word a month to Nurture Yourself the word for April is Visualize. When we visualize you create an idea, thought or mental image of someone or something.

The image I’ve posted for visualize today is from photographer Hossein Zare. I chose it because it’s a wonderful metaphor for what you want to do when you visualize. The bench is our empty mind. The snowflakes are our thoughts floating around.

We need to empty our mind of all thoughts and visualize you as being completely barren. The old insecurities, judgments’ and beliefs won’t want to leave. They’re comfortable. But, they are the thoughts that keep repeating all the negative things we were told while we were growing up. Let them float away among the other snowflakes and melt. They’ve been taking up important real estate. Your high price district has been constantly going down. These negative thoughts haven’t helped you so far and they never will. They’re meaningless feelings doing all they can to make you burdened and worthless.

Gather new snowflakes. They are fluffy and white and have the new real you in them. The happy, positive, creative person you could be if those negative thoughts weren’t there. If they weren’t there dragging you down with their heavy demands, you would have the energy to succeed in whatever you chose to do.

Begin to visualize that you are extraordinarily special, unique and remarkable. Then, you will be able to get to the peaceful tranquility you want.
